Decentralizing infrastructure for a collaborative and sustainable future

OKA Lab

OKA Lab is a self-sufficient campus model for testing and implementing open, sustainable systems. Focused on student involvement, it aims to create a collaborative infrastructure through hands-on projects, sharing all information so that the community can replicate it.

First OKA Lab

OKA Lab 0, the first implementation of the OKA Lab model, will be located in the center of Portugal where we have 10 hectares of land.

Projects

In order to build these OKA Labs, we collaborate with students and academia to develop sustainable, open infrastructure solutions. Our interdisciplinary projects aim to create interoperable systems for energy, water, food and construction, empowering communities to build and maintain their own sustainable systems.

OKA Model

Projects are managed in the OKA Model. Its aim is to standardize the development of sustainable and decentralized infrastructure by creating a knowledge base that measures system openness and generates new systems.
